Aftercare

A little love goes a long way. Here’s how to care for your new tattoo.

Whether you’ve recently received areola restoration, scar camouflage, stretch mark revision, or another paramedical tattoo treatment, proper aftercare plays an essential role in both healing and long-term results. At Luxe Paramedical in Pittsburgh, every restorative tattoo procedure is approached as part of a larger healing journey — one that deserves patience, care, and attention throughout the recovery process.

Unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, treatments such as 3D areola tattooing, mastectomy tattoo restoration, top surgery tattoo work, and scar revision involve skin that may already be healing from surgery, trauma, or previous medical procedures. Following your aftercare instructions carefully helps support healthy healing, pigment retention, skin recovery, and the most natural-looking outcome possible.

During the healing process, it’s important to be gentle with your skin, avoid unnecessary irritation, and allow your body the time it needs to recover properly. Some fading, texture changes, and variation during healing are completely normal, and multiple sessions may be recommended depending on the treatment area and your individual skin response.

At Luxe Paramedical, aftercare is considered an extension of the treatment itself. Natasha Fialkov is committed to supporting clients throughout every stage of the healing process with clear communication, trauma-informed care, and personalized guidance designed to help you feel comfortable, informed, and cared for from start to finish.

Because this work is about more than appearance. It’s about healing well, feeling supported, and reconnecting with your body with confidence.

General Aftercare Instructions

  • Leave the bandage or wrap on for 2–4 hours after your appointment unless instructed differently.

  • Use lukewarm water and a fragrance-free, gentle cleanser. Wash with clean hands—not a washcloth.

  • Use a clean paper towel or let air dry. No rubbing.

  • Apply a very thin layer of the recommended aftercare balm or ointment. Avoid over-saturating.

  • Don’t scratch, pick, or peel. Let your body do its thing.

  • No baths, swimming, saunas, or hot tubs for at least 10 days.

  • Keep the area out of direct sunlight. Once healed, use SPF to protect your results.

Touch Ups

Touch-ups are a normal and expected part of many paramedical tattooing treatments and will be discussed during your appointment and throughout the healing process. Because every client’s skin, scar tissue, and healing response are different, additional sessions may be recommended to refine color, improve balance, or achieve the most natural-looking results possible.

At Luxe Paramedical in Pittsburgh, treatments such as 3D areola tattooing, scar camouflage, stretch mark revision, and gender-affirming tattoo procedures are approached with long-term healing and realistic expectations in mind. Factors like scar texture, skin type, pigment retention, and previous surgeries can all influence how the skin heals and how many sessions may be needed.

While mild redness, tenderness, and sensitivity are common during healing, clients should reach out immediately if they experience excessive irritation, unusual swelling, or signs of infection. Natasha Fialkov is committed to providing ongoing support and clear communication throughout every stage of the restorative tattoo process
